A 21-year-old member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard has been arrested by the FBI for allegedly leaking classified Pentagon documents. Jack Teixeira, who
specializes in intelligence, is suspected of leading the online chat group where the documents were posted. He will be charged with the unauthorized removal of classified national defense information.
The leaked information has raised questions about vulnerabilities in Ukraine's air defense capabilities and has exposed private assessments by allies on an array of intelligence matters.
The Biden administration has been working to assess the diplomatic and national security consequences of the leaked documents. The Justice Department opened an investigation to identify the person responsible for the leaks, which the Pentagon spokesperson said were a "very serious risk to national security."
