Toyota has issued a recall for approximately 751,000 Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid vehicles due to concerns over mounting tabs on the vehicles' bumpers, which could lead to parts

detaching while driving. The announcement was made by the car manufacturer on Thursday.

The recall applies to select models from 2020 to 2023, as stated in a company news release.

According to Toyota, the affected vehicles have front lower bumper covers constructed from resin, connected using mounting tabs. Even minor impacts to the lower front bumper cover can potentially cause the mounting tabs to disconnect from the vehicle during driving, posing a risk of accidents.

Toyota's Response to the Issue: In response to the recall, Toyota has outlined a series of steps to address the problem. The automaker's dealers will inspect the upper-to-lower front bumper cover mounting tabs and slots for any damage.

If no damage is detected, dealers will install retention hardware featuring an "improved design," as stated by Toyota.

In cases where damage is found, dealers will replace both the upper and lower front bumper covers and provide the vehicle with retention hardware that incorporates a superior design at no cost, according to the company.

Notifying Impacted Customers: Toyota intends to inform affected customers by December about the recall and the necessary steps to address the issue.

Checking Vehicle Status: Customers concerned about the status of their vehicles can visit the Toyota recall webpage at www.toyota.com/recallor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) recall page at www.nhtsa.gov/recalls.
