The White House is collaborating with state authorities to ensure replacement ballots are issued after ballots in drop boxes were destroyed in the Northwestern U.S. states of Washington and
Oregon, a spokesperson announced on Wednesday.
“This is unacceptable. Every eligible American has the right to make their voices heard,” stated White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a news briefing.
Law enforcement suspects three incidents of arson targeting ballot drop boxes in Washington and Oregon may be connected, with the FBI currently leading an investigation, Jean-Pierre reported.
“We’re assisting state officials by providing replacement ballots for those impacted and working to prevent future incidents,” she said. Photo by Yngvadottir, Wikimedia commons.
