Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz are set to embark on a bus tour across South Georgia next week, culminating in a rally in the Savannah

area on Thursday night.

The tour follows Harris's recent formal acceptance of the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in Chicago. With this campaign swing, the Harris-Walz ticket aims to build on the momentum generated over the past few weeks and sustain it through to the November election.

Georgia remains a key battleground state, with polls indicating a close contest between Harris and former President Donald Trump. Harris, who has been a frequent visitor to Georgia since becoming vice president, last campaigned in Atlanta in early August shortly after stepping into the presidential race. Democrats are optimistic that the recent changes at the top of the ticket have made Georgia and other Sun Belt states more competitive.
