Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton voiced skepticism about former President Trump's recent statement suggesting he is unlikely to pardon himself. In an upcoming interview
scheduled to air on Sunday, Clinton spoke to MSNBC's Jen Psaki and expressed her lack of trust in Trump's words.
"I don't believe him on anything," Clinton remarked, "Why should I start believing him on that?"
During an interview with NBC's Kristen Welker, Trump had stated that he would probably not pardon himself if convicted of a crime and reelected as president.
"I could have pardoned myself. Do you know what? I was given an option to pardon myself. I could have pardoned myself when I left," Trump revealed during the "Meet the Press" exclusive.
Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 election, questioned the credibility of Trump's claims and suggested he might be engaging in what psychologists refer to as projection.
"Whenever [Trump] accuses somebody else of doing something, it's almost guaranteed he's doing it himself or he's already done it," she asserted. "Or whenever he denies thinking about doing something or doing it, it's almost guaranteed he is thinking about it or he's already done it."
In the interview, Clinton also discussed the 2024 presidential election, Trump's potential indictments, and the Clinton Global Initiative. The full interview will be broadcast on Sunday at 12 p.m. Photo by Gage Skidmore from Peoria, AZ, United States of America, Wikimedia commons.
