President Joe Biden is facing negative opinion polls as he announces his bid for a fourth presidential run, with 70% of Americans, including 51% of Democrats, not
wanting him to run again. According to a poll released just before his announcement, age is a major reason why 69% of voters do not want to see him run again. Only 6% of respondents want a Biden v. Trump rematch in 2024. Biden's approval ratings have consistently struggled to get above 40% since he came into office, and he has faced poor performance ratings and a lack of trust in his ability to deal with important issues such as the economy.
A separate poll shows that Biden's approval among young Americans has dropped by five points over the last year, with only 36% of registered voters aged 18 through 29 approving of his performance as president. Photo by Gage Skidmore from Peoria, AZ, United States of America, Wikimedia commons.
