According to White House national security spokesperson John Kirby, the current situation in Sudan is highly volatile, and American citizens should take it seriously. Although there are no
current plans for a U.S. government evacuation from the African country, Kirby emphasized the importance of treating the situation with utmost caution.
During a briefing with reporters, Kirby referenced a State Department security alert for Sudan issued on Sunday. The alert stated that due to the uncertain security situation in Khartoum and the closure of the airport, there were no plans for a U.S. government-coordinated evacuation at this time. Kirby stated that this is expected to remain the case for the time being. Photo buy Petty Officer 1st Class Carlos M. Vazquez II, Wikimedia commons.
