A woman from the Boston area has been arrested and charged with leaving paper swastikas outside the home of a Jewish lawyer who is representing her child's father
in a custody battle. The victim, Stephanie Lyons, first found the swastikas on her lawn in November, causing fear and confusion in the community.
The police have charged Kathleen Collins with a civil rights violation and two counts of witness intimidation.
Collins had reportedly made derogatory statements about Lyons and admitted to putting out the swastikas, which contained anti-Semitic messages. The arrest is significant as perpetrators of anti-Semitic acts using flyers are rarely caught. The Anti-Defamation League's New England regional office has expressed support for the arrest, hoping that justice will be served, and a sense of safety will be restored to the community.
