During a visit to Kyiv on Monday, U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham praised Ukraine's recent cross-border operation into Russia's Kursk region, describing it
as "brilliant" and "bold." He urged the Biden administration to supply Ukraine with the necessary weapons to sustain its efforts.
Ukraine's top commander reported that Kyiv had gained control over approximately 1,000 square kilometers in the Kursk region, as Russian forces continued to struggle in repelling the Ukrainian advance, which had been ongoing for seven days.
Senator Graham made his remarks during the visit alongside Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal. "What do I think about Kursk? Bold, brilliant, beautiful. Keep it up," Graham told reporters.
He further emphasized, "The bottom line for the administration is clear: Give Ukraine the weapons they need to win a war they can't afford to lose."
During the meeting with the Senate delegation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed his gratitude for U.S. support. He later shared on social media that they discussed the specific needs to bring the war to a just conclusion, including the importance of long-range weapons.
