US Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr (RFK Jr) has defended himself against accusations of antisemitism following controversial comments he made about COVID-19. Kennedy stated

that his remarks about the virus being "ethnically engineered" to affect Jews less should never have been quoted.

In an interview with JNS, Kennedy acknowledged the impact of his words and expressed regret, stating that he needs to be more careful and understand the potential misuse and misinterpretation of his statements. He emphasized that he does not want to cause harm or hurt to any group, particularly Jewish people, who have already faced significant suffering throughout history.

Kennedy reflected on the challenges of finding a balance between providing truthful information and the potential for manipulation. As a presidential candidate, he recognizes the importance of being cautious with his words. He affirmed that he is not an antisemite and expressed that being accused of such prejudice is among the worst accusations one can face.

Kennedy also addressed previous controversies surrounding comparisons to the Holocaust, clarifying that he does not compare anything to that horrific event. He stressed the significance of discussing historical aspects without making inappropriate or offensive comparisons.

Regarding his support for Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, Kennedy explained that he was unaware of Waters' anti-Israel statements at the time. As soon as he was informed, he took down his post expressing gratitude for Waters' stance on COVID protocols.

Kennedy shared his experience of parting ways with a former friend from the Nation of Islam due to the person's failure to disavow Louis Farrakhan's views on Israel and Jews. He emphasized his opposition to Farrakhan and his commitment to taking a stand against such ideologies.

In conclusion, Kennedy expressed his desire to maintain personal integrity throughout his presidential campaign and highlighted his primary objective of getting elected as the President of the United States. Photo by Gage Skidmore from Peoria, AZ, United States of America, Wikimedia commons.
