Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has made a visit to Iowa amid speculation of a presidential run in 2024. Speaking to a group of Iowa Republicans, DeSantis called for
the GOP to embrace a positive vision for the future and reject a “culture of losing” if they want to win the 2024 election. Though he did not mention former President Donald Trump by name, DeSantis appeared to rebuke Trump, who is the front-runner in the current 2024 presidential field despite losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden and promoting candidates who lost their 2022 midterm races.
DeSantis also attended U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra’s annual picnic fundraiser in Sioux Center, where he was joined by a number of Iowa’s top elected officials. He went on to flip pork burgers with Feenstra and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, posing for photos and signing autographs.
