Yesterday, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves met virtually with Prime Minister Albin Kurti of Kosovo to discuss the U.S.-Kosovo commercial relationship.
During their meeting, Deputy Secretary Graves expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Kurti and the Government of Kosovo for its cooperation in joining international sanctions on Russia in response to its unlawful invasion of Ukraine. The Deputy Secretary and Prime Minister also discussed opportunities for greater commercial cooperation between the United States and Kosovo.
In particular, he noted that the clean energy and ICT technology sectors as two key areas. Furthermore, the Deputy Secretary informed the Prime Minister that the Department’s Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) technical assistance program had received funding to bring Kosovar business leaders to the United States in 2023 for a hands-on exchange opportunity with U.S. industry counterparts, regulators, and to participate in major trade events.
