Police in North Carolina are actively searching for a driver who allegedly intentionally struck six migrant workers with a car. The incident occurred on Sunday at a bus stop outside a Walmart in
Lincolnton. The driver, described as an older white man, hit the workers, who were standing on the sidewalk, with a black SUV around 1:15 p.m.
Authorities stated that the motives of the suspect are still under investigation, but the incident appears to be an intentional assault with a vehicle. The injured workers were taken to a hospital for treatment, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. All of the victims were treated and released on the same day.
A video released by the Lincolnton Police Department shows the driver slowly approaching a white bus, turning towards a parking spot, and running over the workers who were waiting at the bus stop on the sidewalk.
