According to recent reports, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis failed to impress UK business leaders during his international trade mission this week, which could
potentially harm his expected bid for the US presidency.
After visiting Israel, Japan, and Korea, DeSantis concluded his trip in London, where he met with senior business figures at an event hosted by Lloyd's, the world's largest insurance marketplace. Politico reported that attendees found DeSantis' appearance to be lackluster and "low-wattage."
While some criticized his demeanor and message, others found his behavior "bored" and "state-level politician-like." This was DeSantis' second overseas trade mission, which was organized by the state's economic development agency. His office claimed the trip came at no cost to taxpayers, although no details were provided. Photo by Gage Skidmore from Peoria, AZ, United States of America, Wikimedia commons.
